wow i have never read so much bs in my whole life okay ya’ll are all in need of a serious reality check. Yes we are all tired to listen the same song, so many time because they have been treated badly in the history that give them the right to have a strong smell in public an not be criticise. Or question why the do smell much more than people from other parts of the world.

Yeah I agree with courtney and Josie here, I’m an asian guy who went down on a really thick juicy black woman and I noticed that black people do have that smell. Not saying it’s bad or anything, but what the original poster was saying started to make sense. Obviously people who went down on a black person will understand this question more so than a virgin, ignorant troll who gets pissed at everything.

an adult would understand that different etnies/cultures eat different things and have different ways of living, so different smells.
its true that black people smell different,so do asian people and we white people smell different to them too and so on.
i am by the way HORRIFIED by some comments on this page that have nothing to do on the topic and that are purely racist.
Ok to be honest this is it:
1. When sweat hits their hair, it produces this “odor” smell that makes their hair give off this weird and unusual scent.
2. Sometimes they dont bathe for days and even weeks, they wear the clothes and the smell transfers to the clothes.
3. Drug abuse, smoking, getting high, etc..
4. Sometimes its just natural, for instance when you smell the pillow you slept on few nights ago, there is that smell of your hair. Its just the same with black people, except their hair is all frizzy and kind of smells musty.

Here is the ACTUAL answer.
many (likely most, definitely not all) people of african descent have a higher concentration of apocrine glands than other races as well has having apocrine glands that are larger. Conversely those of asian descent (especially Japanese descent) have little, and in some cases no, apocrine glands. Now this is NOT the same as sweat glands. Though apocrine glands are a type of “sweat” gland, they do NOT respond to heat or physical exertion, which is what eccrine glands do. Apocrine glands respond primarily to situations of either high stress or arousal (need not be sexual, but thats included).
Apocrine glands contain a much higher level of volatile fats in them, which become very oderiferous when the bacteria in your skin metabolises them. Simply put, if you have three people stressing out in a line of asian, caucasian and african descent you will see an escalatingly stronger smell out of each one respectively. Its the same smell, simply stronger. Asians frequently complain that white people smell.
I will repeat again that apocrine glands are not triggered (except in extreme heat situations) by temperature, so the whole “africa is hot” theory is total rubbish. This is simply genetic similarites among certain groups lending some to different concentrations of glands. The idea that evolution has a ‘purpose’ or ‘intelligent goal’ is a fallacy, its completely randon and anything that doesnt hurt you has a possibility to become the norm if passed around the gene pool enough regardless of how random the gene is.
My personal theory here is this: you stop noticing the “race smell” of whatever race you deal with the most in your day to day. And will definitely not notice the smell of anyone who has less apocrine glands than your most frequently interacted with race. But if you come into contact with someone of a higher apocrine concentration that hasnt showered recently enough, you’ll notice it. Problem solved. Now please stop all the various racially tinged comments, both racist against blacks and the defensively accusatory against someone asking an honest question about a tricky subject.

I work with several Black women who get their hair done on the weekend, then go the entire work week without washing their hair. This is in Houston where it’s hot and humid May – Sept. When I get close to thier hair, it reeks, especially during the summer. I’ve heard if blacks washed their hair everyday, it will fall out.
We are not aware of any race specific secretions; it is known that biologically Negroes have more sweat glands than either Caucasians or Orientals. However, this does not explain the odor which is not the result of more such glands, but is peculiar to the Negro, and can be attested to by anyone who’s been to Africa. Since the Negro is less evolutionarily evolved, an archaic trait in the form a race specific secretion cannot be ruled out. More research is needed in this area.
So with all that’s going on in the world, your concern is the smell of black people…? Sad.
Have you not been around a group of whites, asians, etc? I have. They give off an odor as well. It’s a PEOPL/HUMAN thing, not blacks.
